Dracula
Saturday, April 17th 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 18th 2:00 p.m.
Original choreography by Cristina
Stirling Munro
For over 100 years Dracula has
mesmerized readers and audience
members alike. This April, Corpus
Christi Ballet will revive the Count
and grant him freedom to roam the
night once again through the power
and passion of ballet. The cast
will transport you to Transylvania
to witness an elegant, dark drama
of love, bloodlust, loss, and redemption.
This enthralling and vivid adaption
of Bram Stoker's Gothic masterpiece
illuminates Jonathan Harker's journey
to Transylvania and the entrancing
powers of Count Dracula, the beautiful
Mina, and the doomed Lucy. Dracula
is performed to a gripping, spine-tingling
score, accompanied by howls of wolves
with a set and costumes that are
ingeniously complemented by eerie
and supernatural effects. This ballet
is an original work by Corpus Christi
Ballet's artistic director, Cristina
Stirling Munro, which premiered
to great acclaim. A teacher resource
packet will be provided. Appropriate
for 6th grade and up.
